Cook With Kenyon

Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026. This policy covers the Cook With Kenyon mobile apps for Android and iOS, and the site they display, cookwithkenyonapp.com.

The short version

There are no ads and no third-party trackers in this app, and we do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. There is no account and no password, and you can use almost all of it without telling us anything about yourself.

What we collect

Your first name, if you give it

The app asks “Who are we cooking with?” so it can address you by name. It is stored against your device’s random identifier. You can type whatever you like.

Your mobile number, only if you ask for promotions

On the Promos screen you can enter a mobile number and tick a box to be texted when a Kenyon deal drops. We store the number, the fact that you consented and when. We use it for nothing else, we do not pass it on, and replying STOP ends it. If you never tick that box we never have it.

What you ask, and what we answer

Ask Kenna sends your question to our server so it can be answered. We keep the question and the answer — up to the first 600 characters of each — so we can see where the app gets things wrong and fix them. Please do not type anything private into it: it is a grill assistant and it does not need your personal details to answer.

Your approximate location, from your IP address

Like any website, our server sees the IP address your device connects from, and we record the city-level location it maps to so we know roughly where the app is being used. The app never reads your device’s GPS or precise location.

How you use the app

Which screens you open, which videos you play, and events from a connected meat probe, together with a random identifier for your device, your IP address and your browser’s user agent.

What we do not keep

Voice

If you ask a question out loud, the recording is sent to our own server, turned into text, and discarded. It is never written to disk, never stored, and never sent to any third party. Only the resulting text is treated like any other question.

Photos

If you use Chef’s Eye to identify your grill, the picture is sent to our own server, identified, and discarded. We keep the answer — which model we think it is — not the image.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

Who we share it with

Nobody. No advertisers, no data brokers, no analytics companies. Your questions are answered on Kenyon’s own server rather than being sent to an outside AI provider. We will disclose data only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Usage records, questions and answers are retained on our own servers, and promotional numbers are kept until you opt out. The app does not currently provide a way to request deletion of data already collected. If that changes, this page will say so.

Children

The app is intended for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Ask Kenna and AI

Ask Kenna generates its answers automatically, and it can be wrong. Follow your grill’s own manual and normal food-safety practice for cooking temperatures — do not treat the app as the last word on whether food is safe to eat.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
